The sketchbook project.

You may or may not have noticed that I am obsessed with drawing(s). Probably because if I were to be an artist that would be my method of creation (word choice...?). [Side note: It has taken me about 20 minutes to figure out how to word this and I've given up... I am stuck on the word "drawer" meaning "draw-er" but know something isn't quite right.]  Moving on, I love drawing and I never do enough of it. I have gazillions of sketchbooks in all shapes and sizes at my apartment (and hidden about my parents' home... hee hee). So when I read about The Sketchbook Project from Art House Co-Op, I was pretty sad to see I couldn't join in. But it's still cool to know about.
The Sketchbook Project: 2011

Over 28 thousand artists signed up and as you read this are filling in their sketchbooks with doodles and drawings to send back to the organization so they can be part of a sketchbook tour around the US.  Being an artist can be such independent work, it's nice to see things like this project where the works of artists can come together in one place. Plus, other people's sketchbooks are so cool to look at.

At the end of the tour, the entire sketchbook collection will be housed at the Brooklyn Art Library which is right in my neck of the woods.
Even though I can't participate, I just might take up doodling again. I like the idea of filling a moleskine up with sketches. Maybe I will post some of them here?
