They say you shouldn't judge a book by its cover or a gift by its wrapping. I happen to disagree. The outside is an item's first impression and should be decorated as such. That said, there is no need to go overboard. My trick is to use 1 part simple to 1 part extravagant. If I am using plain paper, I will gussy it up with some fancy bows, bells, and tags. If I am using amazing paper, I keep the ribbon tying simple and clean.
If you found the Target wrapping paper section as underwhelming as I did, these items will hopefully inspire you this gift-giving season.
I think I may have mentioned that I like books. This gift wrap set appeals to me because the print isn't a pattern, it's pages from a book of nursery rhymes and the bows match. Also, I love old school library book cards. It used to be so fun to sign your name and see who else checked out that same book and when. Precious.
I love wishing people "Peace" because it works for everything and no one can really grumble about that. These cards are letterpress, which is also one of my absolute favorite types of printmaking.
This black and white holiday paper is so simple, I love it. You can dress it up with some thin gold ribbon or keep it rustic by using twine. Give this to the family member who carefully unwraps present and then sneak it away to use for next year.
These gift tags would look great paired with almost any paper. They come in the assortment below, which means you can pick and choose based on who you are giving gifts to and make it even more personalized.
I stockpile magazines, newspapers, and fabric scraps, hoping I can put them to use at some point. I never do. They sit under my bed, get used as packing materials (so sad), and generally get ignored. These sellers figured out how to transform scrap materials into beautiful bows. Love them.
That's all I've got for you today, because my I am in a new place and we haven't quite gotten our internet set up so it is spotty at best. (It works when I angle my laptop halfway out the window while balanced on a pillow to access our neighbor's wireless). I did my a treasury of more picks though, so check that out here.
